The 1962 Corvette looked cleaner with the subtraction of some chrome and the deletion of the two-tone paint option.

This also marked the last of the straight-axle Corvette, and was now offered with a 327ci small block V8. The introduction of a special racing package called “Sebring” offered true enthusiasts a direct-flow exhaust system, larger wheels, a 24-gallon fuel tank, 4-speed gearbox, Posi-Traction rear axle, metallic brake linings, and a heavy-duty suspension. The most desired option was the 327 V8 “fuelie” rated at 360 hp.
